Thal Equine Foaling and Reproductive Services Attended Foaling: We have a newly set up foaling stall for attended, supervised foaling of your valuable mares. We use the Foalert system, which consists of a magnetic monitor attached to the mare. When the mare begins foaling the magnet separates and sounds an alarm that immediately alerts our staff.
Our heated stalls are equipped with cameras, which allow our staff to better monitor the mares during and after pregnancy. Most mares foal in the middle of the night. Our foaling services include Foalert placement in the mare, boarding, a post foaling exam of mare and foal, and antibody testing of the foal to insure passive transfer of antibodies from the mare’s colostrum. Call for more information.
You should plan to bring your mare no more than a couple of days before foaling. If you have questions about how to determine that, please call our office. When you pick up your mare and foal, you will receive a summary of the examination of mare and new foal, and any instructions necessary to help you manage them.

Reproductive Services:

We now offer stallion reproduction services including semen collection, breeding soundness exams, and shipping cooled semen.

We continue to receive shipped semen here for insemination of mares on site.
