Adequan IM (Luitpold) |
1 Vial, 5ml. Adequan has been around for a long time. It is convenient because it is injected into the muscle (“IM”) rather than into the vein (“IV”). There is pretty strong evidence that this product has some cartilage protecting effects in horses. Many horse owners have confidence in it. Allow for a few extra days in shipping, because we must ship it to you from our clinic, not directly from the manufacturer. For our local clientele, save on shipping charges by picking it up at our clinic. Sold by prescription only to Thal Equine clients.

Penicillin G: 500 ml |

(Various Manufacturers) A commonly used antibiotic that is very effective against common bacteria in the horse. Penicillin G is the intramuscular form of penicillin. It must be used with caution as it can cause a severe procaine reaction if given with incorrect technique. We will only dispense this product to clients that can confidently give this injection and are aware of the risks. For other clients, we suggest oral sulfa instead. See “Intramuscular Injections: Thal Equine Client Handout” for more information. Sold by prescription only to Thal Equine clients.
